The Desert Temple

Helo, everyone.

This time the adventure runned on Feb 09, 2010. I haven't keep track of the exact time. We play at a Player's house, but it's calm during the night, and full of people during the day. So, it's better if we play at night. We have already played in advance to the Second chapter, now, then I'll have a few posts with the conclusion soon. Hope you're enjoying the reading, and all Players are happy with this different show of a gameplay. We're going to the last First Chapter's moves, so hold your breath.

The Desert Temple

Torian's Castle is big, but not enormous. It has five butlers, a guard of 15 soldiers, and 12 servants. It's located at the center of the territory, and the main veranda fronts to the lake where lives the Water elemental, and Torian met Dudin and Tayala for the first time. He misses them. North of there, there's the icy mountains where the aggressive Ice elemental lives, and also a valley with giant mushrooms. It's located at east on Tachiza Empire, and 200 kilomeasures from the Sea of Nine Realms.

It's the ending of the nineth month, and soon cold will come to this home land. Now, Torian's thinking about his old friends, the dwarf Dudin and the sidha Tayala, on his veranda.

The butler came to say Hadesh and Adria are back. "Where did they went to?", he thought, and said to the butler to let them in.

Hadesh is different.

This was the first thing Torian noticed. His face's more defined and calls more attention.

So, Hadesh explains that a divine intervention happened. They went to the gardens, and the alchemist Daytel was impressed with Hadesh new supernatural form and transformation, irrecognizable.

He looks like a dragon now, but with the head of a basilisk and white dragon horns.

Everything around him becomes supernatural.

- You take care, now, because ice and lightning will probably affect you more, for you spit acid in this form. (said Torian).
- Thank you. (Hadesh said, in draconic). I only know how to speak draconic and snake, this way.

Torian went to get his Snake language Book, and came back.

Hadesh was reading without any help.

- Are you ready to read this book, Hadesh?
- I don't think so. - he answered, and gave back the book to Torian.

So, Torian listened to his cousin Rude's voice.

- Torian. We're ready to go. Let me know when your group's ready, 'cause we need two groups to go there.

Adria and Hadesh agreed to go.

- Rude. I'm going with Adria and Hadesh. I need some time to rest, to confront an elemental.

Torian went to rest, and Hadesh went with Adria to buy tobacco at the vilage.

(Dreaming)

Torian's seeing the dream in an orb, from up. He sees a teleport circle, and a person dressed in black appears, so slowly looks up and take two daggers.

The man advance, and sees a soldier, sleepy, sitting with the hands in the sword. So, this man in black teleports to back of the soldier, and kills him. He clean the dagger at the soldier's clothes. He takes an electric compass from his pocket, and it points the direction.
Two corridors later, he silently kills another soldier. And, so, Torian understand that it's a luxury prison, with the bars made of Vala, the silver from the Planes.

The man in black takes a light small ball off the solder's mouth, and gives it to the skeleton inside the prison. The skeleton started to regenerate.

So, the man in black hands off a noble message to the man, while opens the prison.

He reads the message.

They look each other, and the man dressed in black conjure a circle of teleport.

(End of Dreaming)

The noble Torian goes to eat something, and notice there are missing things at the table, so he looks to the servants and sees they fear Hadesh.

He remembers the hand that was looking through the orb, and it was made of Vala.

(The Desert Temple)

So, Hadesh, Adria and Torian, together with Rude (Rudyn Draci), Spike, the warknight, Bake, the bakemono hunter, and Latva, a woman no one know which is her class, but she makes nature invocations, prepare to go to goblins territory, where an ancient Temple is located.

First, they'll see Torian confronting the ancient Sand elemental, rest, and after that enter the Temple to confront the mission, and Rude speaks what he's looking for.

Two Orbs.

When they come back to give the orbs back, they'll be able to chose an item from the Treasure.

- Don't forget, - said Rude - that we need to investigate the other group, the group of the psionic that invaded my mind. They probably have been there on the last two days. We know that there's a thuleskling noglet, an abyssal, on the first hole, but we don't know what's on the other hole. When we get the two Orbs, and we give it back, we'll be able to get an item from the Treasure, but I don't know what we'll need to do to have this right.

They teleported.

Teleport is starting to cash out them, because it wastes 2k golden pieces each time they use this magical way of travel, and it's something they'll need to start thinking about it soon.

The area where they come to is a huge valley, in a desert. Rocks and greyish brown mountains surrounds the area. The wastes cover all this region, the barbarian's and goblin's territory.
Soon, they assume a position for Torian to challenge the Ancient elemental of Sand.

It took a time until the elemental come. Torian explained that the group were to be his witnesses, and started the challenge.

- Nothing personal, ancient elemental, but I need to challenge you to gain advantages agains Basilisks and then be able to protect my group (said Torian).

This elemental is much more of a warrior than the Sound elemental he confronted before.

The group sees the devastation in sandstorms, electricity, water and sand getting together to create even bigger storms, and Torian's getting tired.

Counting on that, the elemental makes Torian get even more stressed.

As a result, on the contrary, Torian get a bit more disposed to win, for some supernatural will guides him, and he locked the Sand elemental into a gigantic ball of Rocks.

The elemental would need weeks to get out.

It ended.

Torian soon noted his senses are being modified, by the mastery, and he can move in sand and sense motion at sand terrains, now.

He thanks the elemental for the contest, and gather with his group.

- You are stronger than usual elementalists, so take care with your magic when confronting the beast you mentioned. - said the ancient elemental.

After Torian get an extended rest, they prepared to go and start the mission.

Adria got the trace of a psionic who used powers there, probably on the day before, when they started to investigate the area of ruins near the Temple. She was able to get a signature, even the effect being so old now, for signatures stand only two hours, usually.

They divided, to make the mission on the Temple.

Rude, the Void master elementalist, together with the eastern specialist in monster huntery, the woman who invokes nature, and so the warknight wizard Spike went to the first hole to probably confront the abyssal the legend says.

Torian, also known as Daytel, together with Adria the icchi, and Hadesh the draconic lycan went to the second hole to confront the unknown.

Adria heads the group.

After going down an imense stair down there, they come to an imense squared room with four doors. They entered the eastern door. Soon, the door closes behind them, and Torian sensed danger. A mass of abyssals is coming to fight them.

The sides of this somewhat a stair are full of lava, and they started to push the abyssals to the lava while hiting others.

Adria's bow was effective.

Hadesh uses his acid breath to attack the abyssals.

Together with Hadesh was Bog, that got the old spear Hadesh always used to hit the abyssals, too, while mounting Hadesh as mounting a dragon.

Torian attacks with spiral shurikens.

The combat happened during a long time, until no abyssal more come. Soon, they were advancing. It looks like one imense temple. They also see writings on the walls, but none of them could read. It was like a very fluid writing, as it was moving without any movement.

Now, they entered a room with tubes where an indigo subtance goes inside of it. Nothing to do at this room. A wall where a golden liquid moves inside tubes. The floor was covered with geometric symbols, and a black door on the end was a clear way out.

- We're here because of the Challenge. - afirmed Hadesh in a loud voice.

The black door on the end then opens.

Going to the next room, they enter an Arena. On the other side, from a hole on the ground appears an androginous man, with thin black veins on his face.
Torian recognize maybe an angel, but he had no wings.

"A fallen angel?", he thinks.

The challenge starts, and the man conjures a huge abyssal to attack them.

After the first attacks, the group note that it becomes imune to their attacks after they attack the first time. No one said they could not use the Temple to attack the creature, so they organize this attack.

The creature takes damage.

It attacks with tentacles, and it tries to swallow Hadesh.

It fails.

Basically, they destroied everything in this combat, but the holes where creatures with many eyes watch the challenge, as judges.

- Only a combined attack will destroy it - cries Hadesh to Torian.

They speak during combat, and the group attacks at the same time to create a more effective damage. As it was absorving their attacks and becoming imune to a second one, the only chance was doing a massive attack that could give no time to it's regeneration.

So, they used the room as a weapon, Hadesh took the abyssal's attention while Torian created spikes from the stone roof and finally drilled the creature.

It worked, and the creature's dead.

The man from an unknown race reconstruct the Arena with a move of his hands, and look to the "judges", that all looks like abyssals, too.

- You've being judged, - said the man - and you passed the test.

He made a pause.

- Now, - he resumed - that you proved you need the items, you can enter the Temple.

Then, the man reentered the hole, and a door appears behind the place he was all the time during the challenge.

They go.

Entering the Temple, they see an imense Treasure. The walls are made of Telluron. They wait for half an hour, and Rude enters the Temple with his group.

Torian creates water to clean them.

- We were all swallowed by the many abyssals, there. - resume Rude to his cousin Torian.

Now, they start to see the Treasure, and soon Rude find the Two Orbs.

Torian sees a Staff of Power, ready to serve him, and Hadesh sees a special Mount Armour that's his size. They analyze the powers of the group that was there before.

A spirit head appears over the treasure.

He looks like a takkar, but the eyes are different. He stares them. They ended investigating the treasure, and secretly the powers of the recent visitors.

- You have chosen the items you need. It will be measured how well you used the items, when you come back here to get an item for each one of you. When it happens, each can chose only one item. Use the two Orbs well and you'll have a treasure.

Torian gets the black Orb of the Beginning, and Grey gets the white Orbe of the End.

They got to the way out door, and got outside the Temple.

Torian detected observation of them getting out of the Temple, and show his finger before negating the Observe magic.

They did it.

So, the groups negates all their magic and powers used on the area, and teleported to Rudyn's Mansion at Priatel territory, safely. The information they got is imensely important. The other group has the exact formation of their groups.

It's a group whose members are 2 mages, 1 psionic, 1 licanthrope, 1 changeling, and 2 monks.

(End of Mission)

Some considerations necessary

Why the other group's formation is exactly the same as their's? Will they be able to use that two Orbs to confront the enemy group? What does "use well" the Orbs mean, that the Spirit said to them? Now, it looks like they're much more experienced, as group.

But still, they know they're fighting an enemy unknown. A chimera, maybe. Time is the only way to prove Rude's right, or wrong, and the Orbs will do. How to operate the Orbs? Would them show the enemy, finally, or make a different end, unpredictable solution-to-be?

Time will tell.
